Performance Paint Pour-
constructed 6 plaster (soup/paint) cans with holes drilled into them, allowing
paint to be poured into the top so that it flows through all the cans. The sculpture shows cans doing the opposite of
their intended functionality.

I created a piece that
combines colorful multiples of a VHS plaster mold of the film Superfly. The hand-painted
retro-themed background and bright orange macramé work herald the existence and
overall contribution of this now outdated technology.

I made an 8-part mold of a
hockey skate and cast it in plaster. This project was very difficult and time
consuming. If anything could go wrong, it did. I presented it on the floor as
if I just took them off. I had one finished skate (kinda), and one that just
came out of the cast. I portrayed that it was now very brittle and not
supportive anymore.

My sculpture is a plaster mold of a beer can. I intended the image to express the average college kid. Many students save money when they buy beer by purchasing the cheapest brand on the market.

I cast multiple pill
bottles, individual pills, and a pill dispenser in plaster. They are displayed on a lunch tray to comment
on the mass consumption of vitamins, medications and manufactured health.

I recreated a Chapstick lip
balm in plaster, painted it white, and covered it with an original Chapstick
brand wrapper. I ultimately wanted to
take away the functionality of the Chapstick. I returned it to a lost purse I found
hoping to create a moment of despair for the owner of the purse when she tries
to use the fake Chapstick.

Multiple casts of a starfish form a gigantic charm bracelet like those found in beach souvenir shops.
Jesse Peterson
I made a plaster cast of a previously made wood sculpture of
a skull with 2 sets of eyes. I also made
a pair of deer antlers out of plaster.
My intent behind these objects is to bring attention to the fads that
occur in the art world. I then attached
the sculpture to a pedestal and hung the work upside down.
